You will often find Pteri nesting high in the treetops of Tyrannia. They like nothing better than playing tricks on those who pass by and filling the air with their squawking laughter.
The Pteri is a prehistoric bird with a long prehensile tail that has an arrow-shaped tuft of hair at the tip (pretty much like a Zafara's tail), which is most often found in the trees of Tyrannia.
Pteris are generally very playful and enjoy playing tricks on passers-by. Their name is probably based on the flying dinosaur, the Pterodactyl.
They were introduced May 16, 2001. Pteri is pronounced like tee-ree. In the Neopets TCG, Pteris are associated with the element of air.
As of June 2007, the Pteri is ranked 30th out of 50+ species on the site. Over 2.7 million have been created. November 8th is the Pteri Flying Championships (Pteri Day).
