Peophins are rare magical creatures. They are very shy and don't mix well with other species very often. They are rumored to bring good fortune and happiness to those around them.
The Peophin is half horse and half fish, much like the hippocampus of Greek mythology. The Peophin were originally limited edition, but are now common.
Peophins were originally released on February 10, 2000. It is possible that some of them resided in Maraqua, as at least one Peophin was shown in the plot comic defending the city during the final battle.
In the Neopets TCG, Peophins are associated with the element of water.
As of June 2007, the Peophin ranked 24th out of 50+ species on the site. Over 3.2 million have been created. July 26th is Peophin Day.
